Blessing of the Boats 2018
Sunday, May 27, 2018
This is an Informal Event, meaning boats go and come as they'd like, and there is no registration
Is your boat ready? Need a excuse to get the boat out for a test run? Invite a friend and join WMO at the 2018 Blessing of the Boats in Muskegon Michigan on Sunday, May 27.
WMO members are invited to gather in Muskegon Lake near the Milwaukee Clipper (Old Cruise Ship) just outside Great Lakes Marina at 12:30pm. At 12:45pm, follow the Port City Princess for the Blessing Parade of boats out the channel. After the parade, boats will mill around in the South Breakwater cove, watching the Washing of the Lighthouse at 1:15pm. Boats will then be blessed by the priest, as we cruise by the Princess around 1:30pm.
Once blessed, WMO can take a quick run north to White Hall and back, returning before 3pm for Sunday Funday at Dockers or a raft-off at the dune area just north of the channel. This is not a formal run and its details are not actively organized, but just a chance to meet with boaters for a fun day on the water.
Out of town boaters feel free to join us. Slips are available at Great Lakes Marina call (231) 759-8230. The boat ramp at Harbour Towne Marina, next to Dockers is awesome for triple axle trailers and close to all the activities.
WMO membership is required for this event, and registration will open on Tuesday, May 1, at 9:00am.
